What is Tout! all about?

Each day, Tout! features cool happenings in your town (restaurants, entertainment, and everyday services) at uber discount prices.  We get these super deals  by guaranteeing busiensses a minimum requirment of purchases.  So the more that you and everyone else buys, the cheaper the deal is for everyone,  we call this the social deal phenomena. 

Social deals?  Is this something you guys just coined up or is there something to this?

Yes, smarty pants, we coined this phrase.  But it is very real.  Basically, the discount you receive is in your control.  The more you tell your friends, neighbors, frenemies, and everyone else in the world (the social part), the bigger the deal is for everyone. 

How does Tout! work?

Tout! works with local businesses to offer special deals, for a 24-hour period, on entertainment and services that you find useful.  The more deals that are purchased, the bigger the discount (aka “Big, Bigger, Biggest” discount).   The Tout! thermometer shows what the current discount for the deal is and the number of purchases needed to get a bigger discount. 

So explain this thermometer thing again.

Similar to how charity events use thermometers to demonstrate their fundraising goals,  the thermometer is used to illustrate the number of overall purchases  needed to receive the “Big, Bigger, Biggest” discount levels.  For example, a restaurant is offering a $40 gift certifcate for $28 (30% discount) if 20 people buy, $20 (50% discount) if 50 people buy, and $10 (75% disount) if 100 people buy the deal within a 24-hour period. 

How do I buy a deal?

Just click the “Buy!” button before the deal ends at midnight.  Depending on what the final number of purchases is, we'll charge your card and send you a link to print your Toutinero (i.e. gift certificate).  So spread the word to your friends, neighbors, and frenemies to make sure you get the best deal possible!

How much do I pay for the deal?

Good question.  Depending on the overall final number of purchases made by midnight, you will pay the corresponding price for the deal.  So even if you purchased the deal earlier in the day at a lower discounted price, if the overal l purchases at the end of the day meets the minimum requirements for  the higher discount level, you will pay the lower price. 

Wait, what is this about getting a lower price even though I already committed to a higher price?

Shocking, isn’t it? Even though you purchased the deal of the day at a higher price, if the overall purchases at the end of the day meet the minimum requirement for a higher discount level, you will get that lower price.  We will charge you at the end of the day the appropriate price based on what the final discount level was achieved. 

What happens if the deal doesn’t reach the minimum required? TBD

TBD - If not enough people purchase the deal, the deal is cancelled and no one gets it (and you won't be charged), so spread the word to your friends, neighbors, and frenemies to make sure you get the deal!

Do I need to use my Toutinero right away?

No. Usually  each Toutinero has an expiration date, but you will never, ever have to use your Toutinero on the date of your purchase, we promise!

How do I use these Toutineros you speak so highly about?

Once you're charged, you'll receive an email with a link to sign in and print your Toutinero.  The Toutinero has instructions on how to redeem it as well as a map of the business. 

Can I gift my Toutinero away to anyone and I mean anyone?

Absolutely.  Toutinero can be given to anyone, including relatives, friends, signifiant others, Elvis (if still alive), President Obama, aliens, you get the picture…

Hey,  are you messing w/ me?  I noticed my name is on my Toutinero so how can I gift  my Toutinero to anyone?

We’re not messing with you.  Just send the lucky person the link to your Toutinero or give it to them physically.  We communicate with all the businesses that we work with, that Toutinero can be gifted, and unless the Fine Print specifically states otherwise, go ahead and be altruisic!

What if I don’t use all my Toutinero when I redeem it, what happens to the leftover Toutinero?

It goes to Toutinero heaven.  Unless otherwise stated, you do not receive store credit or cash back on lefteover Toutinero that you don’t use.  

Can I combine my Toutinero w/ other offers or disounts?

No.  Not unless the Toutinero explicitly states otherwise. 

Am I billed as soon as I purchase the social deal of the day?

No.  You will be charged after midnight once we determine the highest discount available to you. 

Is Tout! safe?

Absolutely. Your credit card number is transmitted securely by SSL.  At no time is your credit card information stored on our servers.

Can I return my Toutinero?

Generally, the deals we offer are so cheap that we don’t offer returns.  However, we will consider a return on a case-by-case basis under special circumstances.

What if the business closes down before I can redeem my Toutinero?

That would suck.  If the business does shut down and you are unable to redeem your Toutinero, we will do everything in our power to get you your money back.
